A little glass of history: 2008 Adelaide Wine Show Dozen
Here it is! Hard to believe, I know, but this is the 20th Adelaide Wine Show Dozen we have chosen, and this one is as good as it gets.
Again, we’ve scoured the results of the 2008 Royal Adelaide Wine Show to get 12 excellent wines, from many parts of Australia. It’s a balanced and exciting mixed dozen.
As always, you can choose the All White or All Red Dozens (two bottles of each), or the mixed version, to give you a wonderful range of wines you’ll be proud to put on your dining room table – or anyone else’s table. It is, as with our 19 previous selections, a wonderful, different and thoughtful gift. Our selection is exclusive to past buyers and wine club members …for example, the Brand’s Chardonnay 2006 normally sells at over $20 bottle and collected the Top Gold in its class, with 18.7 points, but there was so little left so we have snapped up the lot.

The first wine is the current vintage 2007 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend, which is under the ‘Steeple Jack’ label, and is very good current drinking. There is also a small quantity of a 2004 vintage 100% Cabernet Sauvignon which was awarded 85 points “Best Buy in Wine Enthusiast Magazine, US, and is under another export label. Both are very good value wines and available while stocks last at only $99 dozen (or you can order 6 of each at the same price if you prefer)
Continuing to add to their medal tally in various wine shows and international competitions, Rex Watson Wines have also collected a Bronze Medal with their 2008 Coonawarra Sauvignon Blanc in the Adelaide. Wine Show. This vintage has not yet been released, but we still have stocks of their 2007 vintage which is also outstanding value; receiving 4 stars in James Halliday’s latest Wine Companion. Normal recommended retail price of this wine is $15 bottle…. our discounted wine club price is only $140 dozen, and the other wines in their range are also available at the same price.
