There are two quite separate wine shows held in Sydney around this time each year, and along with some medal winners from other capital city wine shows, we have included a mix of both these competitions in our first Wine Show Dozen for 2009.The Sydney Wine Show was held in the middle of February and includes 5 individual judging panels, chaired by a number of leading industry experts. Secondly, the Sydney International Wine Competition awards the ‘Blue Gold’ medal to a range of different wine varieties that are judged to be complementary to food. One of the main aims of these awards is to introduce consumers to wines and wine styles they may not otherwise have considered, and increase dining pleasure. That is our aim too!
