Winter Warmers... A new medal winning Shiraz mix
We have also just put together our new All Red Selection with some really interesting wines for you to try or hide in the cellar... 2 bottles of each all ready to keep the home fires burning.
Rockbare Mc Laren Vale Shiraz 2007:  Mining magnate Clive Palmer recently paid $110 000 for a magnum of 2004 Rockbare McLaren Vale Shiraz at a Western Australian auction, which equates to $13,750 a glass! Fortunately we didn’t have to pay quite that much to buy a small allocation of their 2007 vintage... Tim Burvill was a senior winemaker with Southcorp in the 1990’s, and had a hand in some of their super premium wines before deciding to go it alone. Although still very young and a little raw, this wine shows great potential but needs an hour or so to open up.. or you can leave it in the cellar for 3+ years.
Peter Lehmann Barossa Shiraz 2006:..Peter Lehmann Wines were awarded International Winemaker of the year in 2006, and this new release is a fine example of Barossa Shraz from a top vintage year.
Cape Barren Native Goose Shiraz 2006:  Made by well known McLaren Vale winemaker Brian Light we have had the Cape Barren GSM blend in our recent Wine Show Dozen, and it has been very popular. Until recently  their Shiraz has been a bit of a sleeper, but has been recently awarded 92/100 in James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009 and a Gold Medal at the New Zealand International Wine Show 2008
Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz 2007: A relatively new label from South Australia’s Limestone Coast region, this is a family owned winery which are producing some very good value wines . Their 2007 Shiraz is very approachable now, but will handle a couple of years in the cellar if preferred.   Every vintage of the Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz has been well rated and acclaimed, with Robert Parker Jnr scoring the 2005 at 91/100.
De Bortoli Vat 8 Shiraz 2007: This very well known NSW winery now has vineyards in Victoria’s Yarra and King Valley’s...   the last vintage of their Vat 8 Shiraz collected a Gold Medal at Sydney Wine Show and this one is very similar in style
Taylors Shiraz 2007 (Trophy and Gold Medal, Sydney International) One of the icons of the industry, Taylors in the Clare Valley have perhaps been a little inconsistent over the last few years, but they have always been known for making some very  fine wines. As an example, their 2002 Shiraz collected the award for ‘London International Red Wine of the Year’... it is superb drinking if you are lucky enough to have some in the cellar and this vintage has the making of being every bit as good.
Normal retail is around $240... Our wine club price $205 per dozen (Two bottles of each ) plus freight
